- Your reminders, tasks, notes and settings are saved only on your laptop. We never receive them.
- Online, Bubu only uses your Google email to remember your purchase, and checks for updates.
- Razorpay handles your payment. We never see your card or UPI details.
- This website uses no cookies and no trackers.
Who we are
Bubu Desk (the Windows app and bubudesk.com) is run by the Bubu Desk team. For anything about your data, email bubudesk@gmail.com. Our contact details are on the contact page.
What stays on your laptop
Everything you put into Bubu (reminders, tasks, projects, notes, stickies, focus sessions, your settings and the weekly report) is saved only on your laptop, with one backup a day (the last 7 are kept). It isn't sent to us or anyone else. You can export it any time, and deleting it in Bubu deletes it for good.
To know when to stay quiet, Bubu checks a few things on your laptop as they happen: how long since you last used the keyboard or mouse, whether your microphone or camera is in use, whether the screen is locked, whether an app is full screen or presenting, Do Not Disturb, remote desktop and battery saver. These checks stay on your laptop. Bubu never reads what you type in other apps, your window titles, files, browsing history or clipboard, and never takes screenshots.
What we receive
- Your Google account email, when you sign in with Google. We use it only to remember that you've paid, so Bubu stays unlocked and comes with you to a new laptop. When you're online, Bubu checks your purchase about once a day.
- Your purchase record: the date, the amount and the Razorpay payment ID. We keep it to keep Bubu unlocked, to answer your questions and for our tax and accounting records.
- Update checks: Bubu asks bubudesk.com whether a newer version exists. Like any website visit, this reaches our web host's standard logs (see below).
- Emails you send us, for example feedback, bug reports or questions. We use them only to reply and to improve Bubu.
We don't sell, rent or share your data for advertising. There are no ads in Bubu.
Payments
Payments are processed by Razorpay. Your card, UPI and bank details go directly to Razorpay and are handled under Razorpay's privacy policy. We only receive whether the payment succeeded, the amount and its payment ID.
Google sign-in
Sign-in is handled by Google under Google's privacy policy. Of what Google shares at sign-in, we only use your email address. We never get your Google password, and we can't read your Gmail, Drive or anything else in your Google account.
This website
bubudesk.com uses no cookies, no analytics and no trackers, and has no forms. Fonts and images are served from this site, not from third parties. Our web host keeps standard access logs (such as IP address, time, page and browser) to run and protect the site, under its own retention rules.
How long we keep it
We keep your email and purchase record for as long as you use Bubu, and afterwards for as long as Indian tax law requires. Emails you send us are kept while we need them to help you.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, by emailing bubudesk@gmail.com. If we delete your purchase record, Bubu can no longer remember your purchase, so it won't unlock on a new install. We reply as soon as we can. If you're not happy with our answer, you can also complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
Bubu Desk is meant for people aged 18 or older. If you're younger, please use it only with a parent's or guardian's permission.
Changes
We may update this policy as Bubu changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
